Shown here are watercolor paintings from different periods, some from life, some testing a visual idea. I use Watercolors in order to test my ideas in a fast and intuitive manner because they do not need much preparation and are small (25-70cm on the long side) and it is easier to work freely and not be committed to a fullness of meaning and handling as required by large scale works. Some of the paintings were later worked up in larger scale while others remained in the suggestive mode enabled by watercolor because I thought they were not suited for following up in a large work as they deal with issues that seem to make a viewer want to look away rather than behold the scene.

מוצגים כאן ציורים בצבעי מים מתקופות שונות, חלקם מהתבוננות, חלקם בוחנות רעיון חזותי. צבעי מים משמשים אותי לבדיקת הרעיונות שלי בדרך מהירה ואינטואיטיבית בגלל שאינם דורשים הרבה הכנה, הם קטנים (70-25 ס"מ בצד הארוך) וקל יותר לצייר בחופשיות בלי להיות מחוייב למלאות של משמעות וטיפול כפי שהדבר מצופה מיצירות גדולות ממדים. חלק מהיצירות עובדו אחר כך לקנה מידה גדול וחלק העדפתי להשאיר במצב סוגסטיבי שמאפשר צבע המים כי נראה לי שהן בוחנות נושא שהמתבונן יעדיף להפנות את מבטו ממנו ולא להתסכל עליו.‏
