It seems that the tension between cultural myths and daily reality has reached a boiling point. In a new world, drowned by constant scientific innovations, which are beyond the understanding of most human beings, and the flourishing of (mis)information, consumerism and social media influences, people are turning back to old and familiar power structures and belief systems in order to stabilize their sense of meaning and personal and group identity.
This body of work explores the tension between myth and reality by representing reality in such a way as to evoke structures that recall other memories. Sometimes those are specific to a certain myth and sometimes are open to interpretation. Formally - this is done utilizing divergent perspectives that evoke several meanings and enable different orientations of the painting. The color paint stain also contributes to this in destabilizing the clear (but deceptive) demarcation of reality, in the hope of consequently evoking a recollection of forgotten cultural structures. |
המתח בין מיתוסים תרבותיים למציאות היומיומית הגיע לנקודת רתיחה. בעולם הטובע בחידושים מדעיים בלתי פוסקים, אשר הינם מעבר להבנתם של רוב בני האדם, ובשגשוגם של של מידע (או מידע מוטעה), צרכנות, ומשפיעני/יות מדיה חברתית, אנשים שבים למבני כוח ולמערכות אמונה ישנים ומוכרים על מנת לייצב את תחושת המשמעות והזהות האישית והקבוצתית שלהם.
גוף עבודות זה בוחן את המתח בין מיתוס למציאות על ידי ייצוג מציאות ובו בזמן רמז על מבני זיכרון אחרים. הסדרה משתמשת בפרספקטיבות מגוונות המאפשרות לשלב כמה נקודות ראיה וגם לאפשר כמה כוונים לצפיה. כתמי הצבע תורמים על מנת לערער את התיחום הברור והמטעה של המציאות, מתוך מטרה לעורר היזכרות במבנים תרבותיים שנשכחו. |
